Constituent service staff does this already, but they don’t tend to overlap with policy types in terms of responsibility or advancement. The real problem is members themselves don’t know or even care, and they’re the ones whose perceptions matter most

People might even get the idea that the government they elect and pay taxes to is actively working against things they want done. Not a great situation for long term civil order!

The obvious answer here is: “hey people seem to like the benches we will keep the existing ones as temporary benches and prioritize the construction of good ones” but here it’s a good excuse not to do anything at all while calling for the destruction of the temporary improvement
