Tonight in Eli: he has zoomies, comes charging into the room with the intention to leap upon his (and this is absolutely HIS) chair so it spins. My laptop is there, instead. He skids to a halt and hisses at it before stalking off.

Watching Spooky in Love on Netflix to cheer up, and it is entertainingly unhinged. Tone veers WILDLY from moment to moment, being as it is both a sweet cross-class rom com and investigations where the female lead is haunted by the dead. With a side of corporate politicking.

It has been a very awful day.

I am not really tied into any of the various Discourses. But I follow people who are. Which means my timeline is often a fascinating peek into arcane arguments I have no chance of understanding without following breadcrumb trails through Bluesky. But placemats are ableist, now, it seems.

My cat is dreaming with his eyes open and it is always super freaky.

I have so many ideas for books. So many. I really need to finish the books that are not finished yet, though. And revise the one just completed, which I am working on!

Watching The Plague (2006), where all the world's children under 9 fall into a coma and wake up 10 years later as a homicidal, soul-stealing hivemind. It is not good. Not remotely good. A few fun bits of worldbuilding, but it's an 80s B-movie that got made in the 00s.

In entirely unrelated news, the new Ana-and-Din novel came out, and I'm so tempted.

But in positive news, I think I've figure out how I would describe the tone of my book: a collision between Hokum and a Noah Kahan song.

The only beta I have been able to find has commented that they are interested in the story despite having revulsion for every character. I guess that's a win. Sort of. :(

Currently watching the new "Faces of Death" movie, and it's better than I thought it would be. Admittedly, my expectations were very low. And it's interesting to see a movie I watched as a kid be the 'cursed cult video' equivalent for a horror movie.
