I had coffee with the chair of Agenda Alexandria yesterday. I’ve been critical of them for years for not, in my view, framing issues fairly, addressing issues that matter to different segments of our City’s diverse population, and for what I would call mean or harsh actions by some of their board.

Ted Lasso being back on feels like a break in the storm of chaos and division in America.

With gerrymandering and Citizen’s United I’m pretty confident Congress can’t get the votes to pass a constitutional amendment to deal with Money in politics, corruption, and host of other issues. While it has never been done before, we need to look seriously at calling a constitutional convention.

The administration and Republican elected officials, at multiple levels, lied about the reflecting pool damage, indicted an innocent man, and lied in order to please the President. I mean, if you are going to lie, at least make it important.

I hear all these people Complaining about the actors chosen to portray made up people in the Odyssey. Yet I don’t see any of them complaining about all the churches that depict a white anglo Jesus. Hmmm….

People use data centers and online services to complain about data centers. People use electricity to complain about electricity transmission. People frustrated about housing costs still complain about housing development. And folks wonder why it is hard for politicians to get things done…

For my Alexandria peeps - Agenda Alexandria is a political organization focused on driving up housing costs and pushing families out of Alexandria. Their all white board of older adults does not reflect the diversity of the City in any way. They should not receive any City or community help.

Sales Taxes are regressive. A sales tax increase to cover school costs just shifts costs to lower income people. I don’t understand why Dems keep pushing this. It a solution made for increasing wealth inequality.

Don’t we get at least 38 more tries to declare victory?

Trump has been complaining NATO countries are not investing enough in Defense. From what I just saw, their Defense is just fine.

We need a constitutional amendment about campaign finance.

When the AI bubble bursts and data centers go bust, how will Virginia handle the economic impact on communities relying on these tax revenues?

“Moderate” Dems clutching pearls about their defense of capitalism and non hatred of the rich are doing a lot of work to prove to the majority of Americans that they could care less about the fact that housing, healthcare, food, education, and retirement feel impossible to most Americans.

Sourdough dough from my amazing wife, rosemary and garlic sausage, drunken goat cheese, mozzarella, soft goat cheese, Parmesan cheese, tomato sauce, date and cumin curry, Kalamata olives, artichoke hearts, truffle salami, hot peppers & capers used in various combinations for our Big Green Egg pizza.

I’m walking around my place near the Blue Ridge taking photos of plants to identify. I’m amazed at the variety and also how many are considered invasive. My current favorite plant sound is Canada Wild Lettuce. It has some pretty cool medicinal qualities.

So, Iran is now in a better position than before the war. And we are calling that a “deal.”
