I got an offer for a 2-month (possibly longer) freelance gig, which is great, but also requires me to go to an office 3 days a week. I just panic-bought about $300 worth of clothes & shoes because I've been a WFH goblin for the last 6 years.

Somehow I ended up with 2 job interviews scheduled for tomorrow. I might need that 15mg gummy afterwards. Eh, I’ll probably cut in half & see what happens.

I got my usual old lady order of 5mg gummies the other day, and they gave me a free sample of these 15mg (!!) gummies, with the warning "hits in 10 minutes or less." I think I need adult supervision for these. 😳

adventures in cost-cutting due to unemployment: Back in 2020, during the worst of the pandemic I started taking Uber/Lyft everywhere instead of the CTA (which was admittedly hardly anywhere because I am a natural hermit). The fewer people I had to be around, the better.

Since I'm in job-hunt mode, I turned on notifications for LinkedIn, and I couldn't help but wonder, why are people posting and commenting on LinkedIn on Friday night? or at any time over the weekend? I do not belong in this world.

I've started an informal Unemployment Film Festival. I ask reelgood.com/movies/roule... for a movie, and if a)I haven't seen it before, and b) it's on a streaming service I have, I will watch it. I also filter for scores >80. Maybe I'll write some mini reviews here.

I haven't been here for awhile. Two things happened: I had two surgeries for kidney stones; then lost my job. Actually I knew I was losing my job before I had the surgeries. But I've been unemployed for a week and a half now. I'm getting very grim job-hunting vibes from everyone.
