Construction for the Metropolitan Branch Trail in Silver Spring. This runs from East-West Highway over Georgia avenue and to the transit center. I think this is the last major section under construction at the moment!

This seems super interesting—current options from DC to Annapolis are really limited. But unfortunate that the bus will not take you to downtown Annapolis… I guess they can deliver more service this way and connect to existing local routes.
Stephen ThompsonThis is dope, and it being free is even better! They just gotta up the frequency from once an hour to like every 15-30 mins and you got a great transit link!
Exciting! I used the Pennsylvanian earlier this year and enjoyed it! Not the fastest, but a very convenient trip between Pittsburgh and Philly!
James SantelliPittsburgh will *FINALLY* get a second daily round-trip train to Harrisburg, Philly, NYC and points in between by the end of 2026.
Total count for last Wednesday was strong at 584K. The Noah Kahan concert pushed Navy Yard to the busiest station with over 26K total riders! I was there and the Metro was really well used!
MetroBig day at Navy Yard for the Noah Kahan concert last Wednesday! It was the third-busiest day there since 2020. Skip the traffic and let Metro take you to the region’s best entertainment and events!
The Purple Line has such an interesting mix of infrastructure (elevated, street running, tunnel). I really hope it comes together well in the end. I do like the look of the vehicles and stations so far!
RAIL MagazineYou’re never gonna guess what’s behind the perspective in this photo… (Hint: it’s a subway tunnel 🚇)🟣
I love that Metro takes big events like this seriously! It’s the default choice for me and many other fans!
MetroCatching Noah Kahan tomorrow at Nationals Park? We’re open until midnight, so you won’t be feeling “Homesick” after the show. 🎶 If the concert runs beyond normal service hours, make your way to Navy Yard-Ballpark station immediately after the show, and we'll get you to your final destination. 👍
With vehicles on every track, this corridor could hold about 2,700 passengers in each direction. I estimate hourly capacity at about 30,000 per hour. Super cool corridor!
RAIL MagazineWho’s gonna be the first to capture a train on all 6 tracks of this corridor outside of Silver Spring? Tracks left to right are: 1) CSX/MARC/AMTK🚆 2) Metro Red Line🔴 3) Metro Red Line🔴 4) CSX/MARC/AMTK🚆 5) MTA Purple Line🟣 6) MTA Purple Line🟣
