We Americans can tell ourselves that the problem is Trump; but Trump is supported by the legislature, and legislators are elected by the people. If enough people wanted Trump gone, he would be gone. What does that say about the people of America? I assume this also applies to Netanyahu in Israel.

Incomprehensible if you see MAGA as a political movement. It's not. MAGA is a religion, and religion prizes faith in the face of adversity. Facts and rational thought simply do not apply.

Institutions are merely vehicles for people in government to do their jobs. Elected or appointed officials should be selected on the basis of their competence and sense of civic responsibility. They trust Trump. Everything follows from that. This is why we must recognize that MAGA is not a political movement; it is a religion. And religion prizes faith and magical thinking over facts and reason.

I think it is worth asking this, continually, repeatedly: MAGA... What is it like to live with no sense of shame? No regard for morality? No interest in truth and facts? No concern about America losing the respect of the world?
