Rise and ResistMore than 2,000 NYC families just received free childcare for their 2-year-olds, delivering Zohran Mamdani’s signature campaign promise in under a year. Each seat saves about $26,000 annually. By fall 2027, the program expands to 12,000 seats across all five boroughs. @noticenews.com
This comes amid local municipalities figuring out that privately owned facilities can be subject to their legislative endeavors and moving to shift control to the feds to prevent local govs from being able to do anything about their abuse/neglect.
Matt ShuhamPrivate prison company CoreCivic has sold four of its ICE jails to the U.S. government in recent weeks for a total of $2.2 billion – an average of $307,000 per bed. The government was already paying CoreCivic to operate the facilities, and that will continue. ir.corecivic.com/news-release...

imagine how impactful this concession would have been had her campaign (& influencers heeding the call) not aggressively stoked hate by trying to characterize AES as a monstrous misogynistic asshole
MeidasTouchA gracious concession: “I want to congratulate Abdul El-Sayed on winning the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. He is a doctor, a community health official, a Rhodes Scholar, and a dedicated Michigander. I am proud to offer my support as he takes on Mike Rogers in the general election…
just woke up and see 96.2% of expected votes are in (estimated 61,000 remaining) with Abdul El-Sayed maintaining a lead of 14,898–an expected drop as larger Stevens pockets wrap up. Stevens would need 3 of every 4 votes remaining to win.
talia janeI can’t speak for NBC’s reasoning on calling it for El-Sayed but with 91.1% in (140k expected left), AES has sustained +20k over Stevens (rn +25k). If you look at pcts lagging (<90% in), the % of her lead pace is <25k votes. She’d need an unanswered bump but when votes come in, he gains too.
