I’m not quite finished with it yet but Punisher: One Last Kill appears to be ‘if you took every idiotic edge lord bullshit garbage comic of the 90’s and made it manifest in 50 minutes of TV’.

This is the most tragically stupid take on a fight scene I have read in a long time. There isn’t a moment of that fight that isn’t clear, coherent and easily tracked. It’s also one of the best examples of ‘action as character building ’ in movie making history.

I have come to realize that one reason I have emotional attachments to so many superheroes is they were the only competent cis men I knew growing up.

I understand this isn’t how most people see the world but I realized long ago that I don’t perceive only humans as ’people’. My dog is a person in my eyes, a sentient being, same as any human I see on the street. My friend’s cats are people. The crows I see outside are people. 1/2

Today, as we turned for home on evening walkies Thor went a different way. I could have picked him up and continued home. I didn’t. We kept walking till he turned west again himself. I have no plans, other than to be with him.

Flabbergasted by people saying Daredevil: Born Again is brilliant storytelling. It’s so obviously, objectively NOT? It’s riddled with structural issues, obfuscated narrative points, weird nonsensical ‘character’ beats. Hey it’s REALLY GOOD! I like it a lot! But it’s not peak anything.

It’s not ‘feminine rage’. It’s just rage. You are allowed to be angry, without qualification or diminishment. Your wrath is allowed not to have a cute name or productive purpose. We have always BEEN the Furies. Be furious.

Assertions of cis male physical dominance being absolute and inevitable (which is JUST NOT TRUE, you can’t compare the top of one bell curve with all of another bell curve) is what THE PATRIARCHY WANTS FROM YOU. Because it makes anyone not a cis man feel like there’s no point in resisting.

The guest on a movie podcast I love opened up by trashing The Last Jedi and I have no interest in hearing an old white man with those opinions talk about art. First time in nearly a decade I scrubbed the show to the end without listening.
