I’ve heard there can be a pretty big delay. Although the Darth Vader AI thing was May of 2025, even though the further egregious stuff picked up more recently. It’s a really, really bad look to have just taken a big stand against GenAI from a sponsor that she was praised heavily for & then… this.

She might as well have just kept the money from NTE for lying about GenAI if she was gonna turn around & follow it up with this, lol. She was the 2nd streamer I ever followed on Twitch back in 2020, that ended today.

It's always been a non-starter for me as well but I get the desperation some people feel after YT & Twitch have kicked them while they're down. I keep hoping there will be an actual decent alternative one day.

I definitely wish it wasn't a choice people even feel they need to make to get by & that Kick would be completely shunned for its shittiness, but I at least can understand the thought process behind some of those decisions with the other options not being ideal either.

I'm not a Kick fan at all but I can at least halfway see some people's rationalizations for deciding to use it. Amazon & Youtube are both big shitty corporations responsible for a ton of awful stuff too & the split goes more to the creator & let's people have more control over what ads play.

That's one of the main ones, then the Gen AI stuff starting back in May of last year & steadily increasing how much they're pushing it both in game & as a company. Tim Sweeney standing up for Grok in the midst of it producing sexualized images of children - the list keeps getting grosser.
