You want NASA to say “we hired people for the astronaut corps who will *do the job with grace and professionalism.* (they do!) And when we did that hiring, we ensured there was equity of training / abilities to give ourselves the best hope of success no matter the mission” (this is the real miss)

We ALL understand this is complex. But, many are misreading the critiques. “all men=bad” is not it Rather: “we didn’t consider women when recruiting for the astronaut corps ” “we didn’t consider women in hiring decisions” “we didn’t consider women in training decisions” “We didn’t consider women…”

Did they fail to ensure half of their corps were hired/trained in skills NASA needed? OR was this a shunning and screw up? Would people rather believe NASA is bad at planning? (evidence to the contrary) …or that just plain old sexist?

we know astronauts are not interchangeable. Each joins the corps with their own experiences, but are trained to do lots of different & important jobs. So, is this a failure of planning / training by the Astronaut Office?

I enjoy people trying to draw boxes around totally made-up things in social culture. Esp with the current culture war. Who’s to say what is and isn’t manly/masc? Drag? Axes? We all have biases and assumptions and heuristics, but because we all have them… they’re all equally presumptive and pointless

The show is really amazing, the topics we've picked to start are so relevant. I'm excited to see how people respond. I see so many claims about health and wellness online, but taking a beat to learn the science from the actual experts was SO refreshing.
