Sure, the internet makes us overfamiliar with each other, but it also makes us overfamiliar with expertise, too, I think. Every time I start feeling that smug know-it-all thing creeping in me, I have to remind myself I’m not a subject matter expert in anything.

Trying to strike that perfect balance of sounding just a little bit airheaded online so people don’t square up at me over lukewarm takes or trivia, but not *so* dense as to compel people to spontaneously explain things to me.

These people want legal clearance for murder at scale, and they can just say it out loud, in public. Meanwhile, in here, if we get a little colorful expressing our derision for these monsters, the ban-hammer finds us with a pointed quickness.
