There are plenty of non-white British medical or nursing students.

Where the ‘composition’ is exactly the same.

That’s a completely different issue. The racism I observed while in hospital was directed at British born health professionals who happened to have a different coloured skin to the patient.

No. My mother was sent to one as an NHS patient for a minor procedure. The staff were lovely but none of them spoke English very well. The doctor, who spoke excellent English in a public school accent, was from Pakistan. There’s nowhere else for racists to go.

Remember, a lot of the ‘non-white’ NHS staff are the children or grandchildren of those immigrants who are entirely British and have the right to pursue a career in medicine, following in their parents’ footsteps. And they have equal, if not better qualifications as those with British grandparents.

When I was in hospital on morphine after surgery I was convinced that all the staff were actually androids and lay there marvelling at how realistic they were!
