I tend to find most music that gets the post-punk label is at least slightly on my wavelength, and "pure punk" never quite works for me. Of those, Echo and the Bunnymen is most in my wheelhouse. My taste definitely leans goth and new wave.

It's punk when it kind of sucks. It's post punk when it's good.
