US auto companies will have to go the way of coal companies: Antiquated sectors that desperately clung to the past, unwilling to adapt, that simply had to be let go. Sorry Michigan, shouldn’t have voted for Trump twice.

"US automakers" my man, GM has a large stable of popular EVs, Ford is launching a mass market EV truck, and the best-selling EV on the planet is from an American automaker.

EVs have 5-6% market share in the US, which is not great, but the US is the world's largest automotive market by dollar revenue, 6% of that market is ENORMOUS.

GM and Ford have been pulling back on their investment in EV production as subsidies and incentives were withdrawn and Americans largely decided to ignore EVs, the Lightning was a huge failure, and Tesla is a toxic Ponzi scheme that only makes outdated models.
