I agree. But Option 2 wasn't approved. A vote was taken in support of it.

In the sense that traffic and parking board only ever votes to remove the parking spaces that advance projects, sure. But that’s like saying they didn’t advance the Braddock bike lanes, they just advanced the parking removal that cleared the way for them. Technically true but not the point.

The Traffic and Parking Board also approves changes to traffic, as well as parking changes. In the case of the Braddock Road project, the board approved removing parking, as well as removing a travel lane and consolidating turn lanes.

Fair. My line: the board authorized the parking removal, T&ES decides what gets built. Staff also said Russell is too narrow for full-length islands — they'd be cut short — so the finished product may not match the drawings. Just don't want folks assuming everything in Option 2 is locked in.

Staff's explanation about the median's lacking a nose was helpful, see NACTO example below. The island at Cedar St lacks a nose as well. The island concept staff showed would be wider than the Cedar St though since parking will be removed on both sides www.google.com/maps/@38.808...
