maybe he didn't want to do it, but how in the world did the athletic not go get him to sign whatever the journalism version of a legends contract is

At this point, he seems to be happy with a “I’ll write something if and when I feel like it, and you may not even know it’s coming until it hits your inbox” schedule. I can see why that may not work for The Athletic.
