Yeah, I never saw that one but I think I remember him claiming he was not some right winger and just got pulled into stuff he didn't want to be a part of by who bought his controversial movie.

I had not seen Danny Boyle's TRAINSPOTTING since the theater in 1996. God damn does that one hold up! (Also some notes on revisiting Peter Jackson's THE FRIGHTENERS.)

I think they're owned by 3 different studios, which doesn't make it impossible, but I'm sure it's harder. Great idea, though - I would love that.

Harold Ramis's MULTIPLICITY: good premise + great Michael Keaton performances + seamless Richard Edlund visual effects = only okay.

I suppose part of this is generational - I'm glad I got to experience ARMY OF DARKNESS as a surprising new turn for the series.

Yes, they're each very different. I personally think EDII is the perfect balance of horror and comedy, but I'm so glad they're not trying to recapture that every time, because almost no one has ever done it as well. Also, so many horror movies are jokey now that being hardcore stands out more.

Ha, I heard that on a different podcast too. I love the mean-ness of the series in general and the new ones specifically. But in this case it's kinda weirder to be upset about because it's this abusive family who "deserve it" in horror movie terms.

One of my proudest moments was when Cage used the term in an interview with Fangoria. Fred Topel had told him about it in a different interview and he liked it enough to repeat it!
