But anyway, it's really good! Anthony Starr deserves an Emmy just for the way he moves his face. He does so much acting, subtle and overt, just by twitching muscles in his jaw that it's genuinely really fun to watch. The whole cast is phenomenal.

I don't know what either of those words mean, but "healthspan" sounds like a video game statistic and "hotspan" sounds like the common name of some kind of industrial shop tool, as in "Go grab me the spare hotspan, I think this one is on the fritz."

Yeah, I've definitely noticed a difference. My "weekend" is during the week at my job, so it always throws me off. I'll be taking a lunch break, wondering why everyone on here is behaving like feral cats on acid, and then I'm like, "Oh, it's Sunday."

Anyway, I'm going to visit her now with a nice card and a little houseplant, so wish me luck. Maybe, if I'm really lucky, she'll let me take care of some stuff around the house for her instead of chasing me off, complaining that she's not 94 years old. :)

And second, to ask if anyone has been in a similar situation and if they have any advice. What can I do to make things easier for her? What can I do to keep from having an emotional breakdown? Are there any good snacks to eat when you have colon cancer? Her usual wasabi peas might be off the menu.

Anyway, I guess I'm posting this for two reasons: first, to remind myself that as lost and heartbroken as I feel right now, it's worse for my friend, and I want to be strong for her, especially because she doesn't have any other family, and her closest friends are sadly even sicker than she is.

As much as I may personally disagree, I know how incredibly difficult chemo can be, and I know I won't change her mind. So, right now, my job is just to be there for her as much as possible. This is one of those times it sucks not to have a car because she just moved clear to the other side of town.
