Time to watch bad movies on purpose

If a mathematician had told me that today, I probably would've believed them. "Yeah, at a certain point, numbers become so vast they're mostly theoretical, and we just represent them as even figures for convenience." Sure! I had to use my phone to calculate 10% off at Kohl's the other day, so okay!

...More than one person just assumes that Trans people take their deadname as their middle name? Is someone telling people that??

I think this is an instance where I assumed my sense of humor was coming across, but actually I just sound resentful or something and people are reacting to that. That explains a lot. I will stick with "He loves walks!" in the future. Thanks for pointing that out!

Yeah, good point. I say it that way because I think it sounds funny, like, hi, this eight-pound animal will rip through my house like the Tasmanian Devil if I don't appease him. I feel like it's obvious that I enjoy walking him or I wouldn't do it, but of course a stranger wouldn't just know that

On live television, with a pledge drive attached. Donate enough money to battered women and children and they mail you one of his toes.

Maybe I should just be saying, "Hi, this is Brooks!" The fact that I explain it probably makes people assume I'm uncomfortable about it, when what I'm trying to do is assure people that it's okay to ask questions

I know they're just trying to be friendly, so I don't necessarily mind, but it makes me wonder if I give off a vibe like I feel guilty for doing something slightly unusual in public? Or if the baseline assumption is that someone doing anything slightly unusual must want reassurance about it

I'll be like, "Hi! I have to take him out for exercise to get all his excess energy out," and they'll be like, "Oh, that's fine! I like cats!" like I was apologizing or asking their permission or something? Yesterday a guy told me, "Oh, I don't mind." That's good, but it wasn't like, an opinion poll

I've learned that when normal people think of horror, they think of corn syrup blood, topless girls running through the woods, etc., and think you're going to recommend some dumb fun. Meanwhile, here I am, cheerfully oblivious, "How do you feel about subtitles? I just rewatched Baskin. Great flick"

I hate that people get paid just to have bad opinions that make everyone mad. Like okay, Burgermeister Meisterburger, calm down

Okay, fair enough. I guess having regular-sized sheep would be convenient for the cyclops because he could just pick them up and move them around.

000

Wait, how did the men hide if not underneath the sheep? Or did they just leave that part out?

Okay, well, if my ADHD actually is caused by processed foods and regimented education, are you going to change everything about how society functions from the ground up so I can participate in it unimpaired? No? Then maybe you should give me my medication and shut the fuck up

I find it incredibly frustrating that you're accusing this guy of misogyny for interpreting your comment in a very straightforward manner. When most people say "I wouldn't do that," what they mean is, "You shouldn't do that." This kind of thing makes it harder to call out real examples of sexism.

Today's walk is brought to you by the gaggle of old folks sitting on their front porch who all waved and said good morning to me 😊

I am a socialist, but my ideal democratic presidential candidate isn't even necessarily a socialist, it's just someone who gives a shit and acts like it. Vote, campaign, and behave as though you care what happens to this country and the people in it. That's genuinely about all I'm looking for.

Today's walk is brought to you by me finally getting to meet the guy who fixed up the junk heap of a house on the corner into a beautiful little home and telling him how much I enjoyed seeing it every day on my way to work. He was very proud and pointed out some further improvements he plans to make

I love dippers!! My favorite songbird! (I do think the European guys are cuter, but the American ones are fatter and that does win them a lot of points)

Before I was born, my dad wanted to name me Ebenezer. He was serious. He advocated for it pretty fiercely. This has nothing to do with Johnny Depp or A Christmas Carol. I just felt like I needed to tell someone.
