Shout-out to the boy in my fifth grade class who kept badgering me about how I STOLE his place on the math team after I made the cut and he did not. (When my overly earnest autistic self wrote him a letter about how he was being sexist, he read it out loud to his friends so they could all laugh.)

I think there does come a level of specificity at which it's possible to find a thing (or, often, a combination of several specific things) that no one has done yet, but I have also encountered a lot of people asserting that they're doing something unique when they're absolutely not. Check first!

An infectious disease specialist I was seeing for an abnormally long Epstein-Barr infection, after I spent five minutes explaining that it was hard to separate physical chronic fatigue from depression and autistic burnout: "I see an autism diagnosis in your chart, but I'm not seeing any signs."
