The cheapest energy in LCOE+ units in this chart is nuclear, as long as it's an existing plant. Building a new plant with current designs adds a lot to the cost. If only there were a way to get someone else besides the taxpayer to build those Natrium plants... bsky.app/profile/jooc...
joociferRegarding the power thing: Tech Bro: I want a DC that will require 2GW power! State: We will not approve this unless you do two things. Bro: OK, what? State: 1) Build your own power source to power it and 2) sell power back to the state at the rate shown in the yellow box below: Bro: 👍
None of this is complicated if we have the will to do this. Department of the Interior agreed to pay Invenergy $765 million to terminate offshore wind leases , bringing the administration’s total number of lease buyouts to eight at a cost of + $2.5 billion. www.utilitydive.com/news/trump-a...
But,.. but,.. according to Trump that means all their people will now have "noise cancer", all their birds are dead, their drunk drivers will have a harder time, & all the whales (or maybe he meant Wales, like Welsh? He's so stupid it could be either) are dying from this too!!! youtu.be/m4xEHsl-q4o

Not us because trump likes how we can continue to warm up the earth with coal
The price of gas sets the price in the UK 80%+ of the time. montel.energy/resources/bl...
A low amount of rotating mass was NOT the reason of the grid collapse in Spain. www.pv-magazine.com/2026/03/23/e...
Oscillatory control is helped by the rotating mass I guess? I have read other publications later, and heard professional opinions from those more educated than me that led me to that conclusion. But that is great news for the electrical supply for all Europe. The more renewable we can get the better
.
Keep seeing posts like this and they're misleading, so here's a bit more info. Yesterday, nuclear met 14% of total demand and fossil fuels met 16%. Wind was 28% and solar was 3%. Only ~18% of daily energy use is electricity; the rest is gas + oil. Wind + solar = .31 * .18 ≈ 5.5% of total energy.
GB Fuel type power generation productionGridWatch | Live statistic of UK National Electricity grid by type of generation | Solar PV power Generation | Coal Stations output in Gigawatts | Wind Output Gigawatts | Nuclear energy output |Biomas...gridwatch.co.ukIf everyone had AC those numbers would be lower. It’s bad for them under a heat dome. Will feel like 107+ on the east coast of US this weekend. Thankful I upgraded my unit last year. Federal Gov. bought out the 4 projects Duke Energy was planning for wind. 500million will now go to nuclear and coal.
Yes, but what are the chances that logic like this will impact the humans (taxonomically speaking) who elected this current administration? See what i said earlier on a separate but related matter: bsky.app/profile/ibnt...
ibnturabBut is there any likelihood that the ~166M who voted actively & passively for this s**t-for-brains administration with wannabe Jesus Mandalorian Felon/Rapist Windmill Slaying Don Quixote Trump who stands by his snorting-coke-off-toilet-seats Health Secretary, are capable of logic & reason?
