The Traffic and Parking Board also approves changes to traffic, as well as parking changes. In the case of the Braddock Road project, the board approved removing parking, as well as removing a travel lane and consolidating turn lanes.

There will be a free staffed and secure bike valet station near 100 Madison Street from 4:30 - 10:30 pm.

imagine if VRE set aside some of the Seminary Yard for a pedestrian and bike trail. It could provide a safe connection from the Holmes Run Trail to Alexandria’s Union Station and the King Street Metro.

At the intersection of Braddock and N Van Dorn is an example of a repurposed slip lane. This connects into the bike lane on N Van Dorn and will nicely complement the purposed bike lanes on Braddock.

I did more than just smell the brisket, I had one of the BeeLiner brisket sandwiches. They gave me an extra cookie because I rode my bike to the Festival.

I think it would useful to have a new page for the W Braddock Road project www.alexandriava.gov/transportati... However, I left web page creation around 1995, so don’t know wha it takes to create a new page. The first meeting for the project is June 4 www.alexandriava.gov/transportati...

The middle turning lane was included for drivers to make left turns. Fire Deparment only wanted the mountable islands. The lane is mostly used for drivers to pass the nonexistent bike riders. There has been some nascent efforts to extend the eastbound bike lanes to Fort Williams Parkway.

On the north side of W Braddock by the Minnie Howard Campus of ACHS they provided a better sidewalk. However, before and after the campus the sidewalk narrows and widening the sidewalk would be challenging and expensive, especially as you head west.

Even if you could move all of the light poles and other fixtures, there is no room to widen the sidewalk. A very expensive wall is in the way. Sidewalk is too narrow for pedestrians and bike riders to safely share.

For the February Traffic and Parking Board meeting on this issue, it took just under three hours to hear from 65 speakers. That included both speakers in the room, as well as on-line.

Oh, sorry, misread your post. I was hoping to get a real stop sign at the Mill Road intersection. Installed in the buffer area to the left of the painted bike rider. Drivers stop, while people riding a bike either turn right or proceed forward to the next stop sign.

Like this? This is on the eastern side of Alexandria on Pitt and First. Asked staff to consider adding one at Mill and Mill at the end of the new cycle track

There Is also some nice bicycle infrastructure in the video.

You might not have noticed the three streets in Alexandria that have the yellow warning sign “Share the Road” - S. Washington, south of Duke, S. Van Dorn, south of Edsall, and S. Pickett, west of S. Van Dorn. Not regulatory and in my experience, sharing is not always observed by all users.

Holland Lane (and Jamieson) have been repaved. Street markings are starting to go in. If you ride slowly on Holland, you can detect the outline of the bike lane and cycle track.

Dream bigger! Restore the W&OD to connect to the Potomac Yard Trail. To start, the Mount Jefferson Trail just needs the bridge to be restored across Route 1. Build the planned Trail along Four Mile Run, connect to the Arlington side at Glebe, and connect to bike lanes on Commonwealth
